Hey there! I'm Liz Rhodes, and let me tell you about my journey with Marigold & Green.
It all started in winter 2021 when I decided to wholeheartedly pursue my passion for floral artistry. That decision led to the creation of Marigold & Green, a space where my creativity thrives and where I can share my love for all things floral with you.
Marigold & Green isn't just another floral design business; it's a fusion of my background in design, sustainability, continuous learning, and teaching, combined with my deep-rooted affection for gardening and floral design.
From humble beginnings of visiting local farms in my trusty little truck and chatting with flower growers, I've evolved into carefully curating the finest local and regional blooms just for you. And when local sources aren't available, I turn to our regional neighbors in places like Oregon and California to ensure that every arrangement is filled with the freshest blooms.
But Marigold & Green is more than just beautiful flowers; it's about building community, promoting sustainability, fostering education, and celebrating the natural beauty found in every petal.
While flowers are my passion, I also love designing and crafting alongside my husband. He's even teaching me how to weld, opening up possibilities for creating sustainable and locally-made foam-free floral installations like stands and arches. Embracing the ethos of sustainability, community, and education, my career in architecture laid the foundation for a commitment that extends seamlessly into my floral venture, Marigold & Green. Our dedication to sustainable practices and local flowers and creating foam-free floral fabrication for you is not just a choice; it's a heartfelt pledge.
At Marigold & Green, we prioritize showcasing the beauty of local and domestic florals. Every stem is handpicked carefully, fostering meaningful relationships with local growers who share our passion. Sustainability, community, and education were the cornerstones of my formal training and now form the bedrock of our floral philosophy.
We stand against using floral foam and harsh chemicals in our designs and workshop space. Instead, we opt for low-impact materials, ensuring our creations align with eco-friendly principles. In every arrangement, we strive to utilize recyclable and compostable materials, weaving environmental consciousness into the very fabric of our designs.
